Out To Get You!

Right now my parents are on an airplane to Kos, for a 2 week leisure holiday. I am so jelous. I will be insanly worried until they return.

Because various people asked, here are some suggestions and tips to prolong the life of your computer. This is really important, do it, or your computer may die like ours did. And this can happen faster than you can say Quidditch!

Your computer has a cover. That grey thing that covers the insides. Make sure you take it off from time to time and wipe dust. This is not optional, consider it a must. Dust can go magnetic, and therefore static, once that happens, that dust can cause A LOT of damage. Do it.

Make backups! A thing that was suggested to us was an external harddisk. What would also work, in case you have an older computer, is to buy an external dvd burner. Burn everything onto a blank cd or dvd that is important to you. Additional recovery partitions wont help you a thing when your harddisk is destroyed. Make sure those backups are NOT on your computer, that would be worthless.

Computer, Chapter II

It is FINALLY pouring down rain now, I am really thinking our roof will take off and fly away any second! Cool, not even when we had the floods a while back did it come down like this. Who wants to take a swim in our garden? ME ME ME! :-D

I said goodbye to our old computer today. The power supply (after only 3 months, we just got it fixed) is wrecked again, the hard disk is dead. He wanted 180 Euros alone for putting Windows on a new harddisk for us (harddisk not included of course). What a joke. All in all it would have cost more than 400 Euros. Byebye computer, rest in peace.

The computer guy said, he has never seen so much dust in a computer. Apparently dust can go static after a while, and maybe there was some sort of explosion in there. So what do we learn from this? Take the cover from your computer off REGULARLY, and wipe dust. This is not a joke.

The grieving process took 2 hours. Then we went out to buy a new one. I am not exstatic. I hadnt planned on spending that much money on yet another computer, but its a good one. It has 1024 MB Ram, 250 GB Disk Space, 3.2 GHz Pentium 4, and everything we will never need, how cool. The computer was 799 Euros. That is about 3 weeks of delivering mail (without benefits). Ah well.

I saw a Marilyn Monroe documentation on tv at about 2.00 am today. Who can sleep when its that hot! Sad sad sad. But cool must have been that she got to see the daughter of Sigmund Freud! ;-)

In a perverse way, I was glad for the stitches, glad it would show, that there would be scars. What was the point in just being hurt on the inside? It should bloody well show.
