Spilled Thoughts
POSTED in: Turtelina

There was one moment in the popes funeral that I will never forget for the rest of my life. It was when the men that carried the coffin away into the Petersdome, turned around for the last time and presented the coffin to the 4 million people, holding the coffin in a way that if the pope had still been alive and the coffin open, he could have seen the crowd clapping and cheering for him for minutes. That moment made my heart stop. I wish he could have seen that. I hope he did see it.

Before the funeral started, and yay something finally was in my time zone, there was a report about the funerals of prior popes, and there was apparently one pope where the embalmment went wrong, and his nose fell off while still lying in state. Good God. Yes, this is my rather inappropriate way to deal with things.

It is as it has always been. You dont know what you have until its gone.
