The Bell Jar

A couple of years ago everyone I knew online read The Bell Jar. I bought it back then too, but didnt read it until now.

To the person in the bell jar, blank and stopped as a dead baby, the world itself is the bad dream. I remembered everything. Maybe forgetfulness, lika a kind of snow, should numb and cover them. But they were part of me. They were my landscape.
~ Esther, p227

Maybe a few years ago, I would have loved this book, and maybe that is when I should have read it. These days I couldnt get into it. I found myself not wanting to read about her stay in the asylum, nor about the suicides planned and accomplished. This is personal improvement. 💡 More about the Bell Jar in my reading list.

Has anyone seen the Dateline episode where they reported about a boy that opened fire in a school a few years ago? This is one of the things I will never forget. Some things haunt you forever.
