We brought our computer in today, and the news are: the hard disk is wrecked, completly. I never learned the lesson, I never made a backup. Years of photos gone, all my graphics, everything. The computer wasnt even two years old.
Lessons learned:
Backups, backups, backups.
“Cheap” things are just no good. The computer wasnt that cheap, but too cheap apparently.
I hate pity (important!), its ok. Lessons are repeated until they are learned. I hope I did this time.
The heat is unbearbale. I dont know where to move to make it bearable. I am still waiting for yesterdays promised cool down.

Oh what caused the hard disk to die? eek 29 C is quite hot . The hottest temperature for this summer was 37C. The heat was just so menacing and piercing.

I know you hate pity, but it is a shame. I really should make backups, I have no backups whatsoever, for anything! It is a bit cooler today, I do not envy your heat. Do you have to buy a new computer now?

Please Nicki, be smarter than I am. Make a backup of everything that is important to you, you dont know how fast it can be gone. 🙁

Ich mache auch nie Sicherungen, an dem alten Laptop hier (habe ich geschenkt bekommen), habe ich nicht mal einen Brenner – wohin also soll ich sichern???
Ah ich weiss: Ich könnte alle Daten ins Büro mailen und den Server zumüllen *böselach*
Nein, ernst jetzt: Ich weiss wie beschissen das ist.
