Eurovison Songcontest 2004
POSTED in: Daily Life

Austria did very well! Lets forget the song, I dont like greasy love songs too much, but they sang very very well, I only heard one wrong note. They sang with 3 voices, I am dead proud. We were one of the only countries singing in our native language.

I loved the Netherlands, again! I have a thing for songs with guitars. Another favourite of mine so far, Germany! Max did well, the wrong notes at times are forgotten because the song was good, and Stefan Rab rocks anyway. The Malta song was good as well, France too, I think for the first time in years it would be easier to list the countries that did not well. The contest hasnt been so good since a very long time.

To the second half: The cyprus girl was better than on Wednesday. I loved the irish singer, he looked beyond cute, I want to keep him, the song was aweful though. Russia, eww, not good. Poland, very very unique I would say. England good as always.

Following countries could win this year after my opinion: Malta, Greece, Cyprus. They were different, and stayed in my memory the longest.

My prognosis for us (Austria), I think we can be found somewhere between place 20-24. But we wont die without holding our flag high! Results under more.

Happy (belated) birthday Nadine! and Happy (early) birthday Heather! Make sure to wish them something.

As expected, we made place 21 with amazing 9 points. France gave us 4 points and Greece 5 points. THANK YOU!

Funny I didn’t like our group, Re-Union that much. I agree that Germany was the best. Though it doesn’t look like they’re going to win. This voting is so corrupt(incl our own 3pts for Germany?!). I’m hoping Cyprus will win instead they’re still among the first 10. And the song had a certain charm *fingers crossed*

I’m not all into that music stuff in Europe… I don’t like mushy love songs either!

I thought they were awesome! The one with the curls was very cute, too. They were better on Wednesday (or was it Thursday) though, you could tell that they were really nervous.

Always the same thing with the points. Who is not able to predict already who will give whom 12 points. Germany – Turkey, the yugoslavien countries, the scandinavien countries and so on. Boring.

The cyprus song was magical in a way, gave me goosepumps. Thank you for your comment Sus!!!

I liked the Icelandic entry and the Serbian entry, wow very original I thought. The commentor of the British programme liked Max, although I cannot remember what he was like. (checks out the video), oh yeh I remember, he was really good apart from one high note. None of the more ballady love songs (apart from Cyprus) did that well so ours was bound to fail. Lol, I learnt 2 words in German from your song (Du bist!). We spoke in our native language too lol! It is also bad how corrupt it is, I mean they were even saying when they were marking ’12 points to my neighbouring country ________’. Anyway, Austria did great, although I expected Ireland to do better! At least nobody got 0 points like Britain last year. I thought the standard overall was much better, but then usually the upbeat, disco songs do well.

The irish song was just not good Nicki. Ireland normally does so well, I loved the singer, a little leprachaun (spelling), but the song was really not good, and he was a bit out of tune, too. But really, I would have died on stage out of nervousness. 😉

The contest was really good this year. I hope we can participate next year, depends on the modus of the contest. If there is a semi finale again we can, if not, then not.

It is kind of stupid really because the 4 biggest countries (Britain, France, Spain and Germany) automatically get through. The Irish song was very boy-bandy. I cannot sing anyway, but I wouldn’t have been able to perform to a good standard. Do you have perfect pitch (where somebody plays you a note on the piano and you can straightaway tell what it is)? I have a friend who does it is quite special. Why can’t you compete if there isn’t a semi final? What did you think of the Icelandic song? Oh yes, the French one was beautiful.

Sorry Connie, I really didn’t like the Austrian song :-s If it helps, I still didn’t like the Dutch one either. The Maltese song was a bit weird, I liked Germany and France too and.. er.. still have the second half to watch on videotape 🙂
