Ecstacy Production
POSTED in: Daily Life

I saw the most interesting report yesterday. It was a Dateline special, maybe someone of you has seen it. Prepare for billions of spelling errors. I dont write reports on this topic in English very often, so I am lacking words and spelling abilities.

The whole report was about college students that taped themselves and their drug addiction. Very smart kids by the way. 3 of them chemistry students. They were using ecstacy.

There was a guy, called Strike(r). He was in prison for producing that drug. While he was in prison, he wrote a book on how to produce ecstacy. He published that book himself, and it is even available on Amazon.com. The book falls under the first Amandement I believe, which is free speech.

That guy also owned a website, the hive I think it was, with a forum etc. On that forum he answered questions that people had, problems they have run into while trying to produce ecstacy. Of course, a huge problem for everyone was, to get all of the ingredients. They cant go to the next pharmacy and order all of the ingredients, as everyone would get suspicious right away. So that guy even gave out advice on where to get the ingredients. He suggested a place called “Science Alience” in Texas. I think Science Alience is a depot place for drugs. Drugs = ingredients for medicines.

Now get this. The book itself, the advice, the help and everything, falls under the first amandement. No one can do anything about this. Free speech.

Dateline visited Science Alience, curious, as to why that place ships out all of that stuff, without getting suspicious. The ingredients for ecstacy are very “unique”. Its almost impossible for educated people in chemistry, to not notice that that is for what those ingredients are needed.

They interviewed the manager. The man that runs Science Alience. He negogiated that he ships out ingredients that are needed for ecstacy production, or that he often doesnt “notice”. He negogiated also that he knew a guy called Strike(r), but he admitted to know the Website and the books. Well before boring you all to death, it turned out that the guy from Science Alience was Strike(r) himself. He did even autograph his ecstacy production book for the nbc man. Wow! He said he needed the money to pay for his 2 sisters college tution. And guess what the 2 sisters study? Chemistry. Apparently. Who knows if that was true. Strike(r) himself never went to College. He learned everything from books himself. Which is extrordinary!

In a way I felt really sorry for that guy. Hmmmm, but so interesting.

Ahhh! Is interesting, but that means, that if anyone read the book/found the site they could start producing it. Scary. I feel sorry for that guy too. There was a story in the UK about how people as young as 10 go binge drinking, like 20 pints of beer over a weekend and then they need medical help. Can you imagine 10 year olds drinking that much in so little time?

Hey Nicki! *hug* You need to have quite a bunch of chemistry knowledge to be able to produce exstacy. Those students did manage to produce it, and the exstacy they produced was “so good”, that they were prosecuted because of it. They produced exstacy worth 2 million dollars. Can you imagine?

Nicki, help! How much is a pint? A lot probably. So sad that 10 year olds would drink that much. And people do die because of it. I hope these kids wont. 🙁 There is something terribly going wrong, dont you think?

That story is pretty interesting- those people must be so smart tobe able to do it. I’m surprised that the guy didn’t get arrested as there has to be a limite on free speech- thats like writing a book on how to murder ppl or how to go about destroying the world (OK, not as extreme ^_^) Free speech= sometimes it gets out of hand I think…

hey, it wont let me comment on the journal part of your site.. 🙁 i hope this isnt just my computer being silly.
And should there really be a limit on free speech? there are already sites and books on how to make bombs and such… a limit on free speech would just take things underground and that could be potentially worse.
