How shall I start? I know 😉 I’ve known Connie for about a year now. I remember she was either the first or the second I visited online. This website looked like so much fun, that she inspired me to start a weblog too. I have not regretted it for one moment, even though I have been on hiatus a few times. To me, my weblog has become very precious indeed: a place to vent, to write whatever comes to mind. And I have to admit as well that my “booklist” idea came from Connie originally 😉 Hope you don’t mind!
As for turtles, as Yvonne just wrote about.. Connie loves them 🙂 I’ll part with my own little turtle story here too.
When my sister turned 4 (she’s 19 now) she got 2 baby turtles as a birthday present. They were quite popular back then, but because hardly anyone knew how to take care of them (a rectangular plastic box is the most commonly used habitat I’m afraid..) a lot of them did not survive. Ours just grew and grew and we had to buy bigger boxes all the time. I grew to like them a lot, both of them having their own characters and all. Red-Spot loved bananas (not good for turtle digestion though) and the other one (rather illegal species at the time.. now registered) adored cherries. When their water was changed, they loved to hold their heads under the streaming water, for unknown reasons 😉
Eventually, we had to give them away. To a nice person who was building a terrarium for turtles just like them and who was willing to take care of them. I miss them sometimes but I console myself thinking they must have a much better habitat wherer they are..
