Happy Free For All Friday! (Glad I checked Connie’s blog, otherwise I would have totally forgot that it was Free For All Friday).

I bought my boyfriend a PDA for his birthday. He had been asking for one for weeks, and I’d pretty much told him, “No, it’s too expensive.” Sunday night, I spent the evening lamenting in #wordpress that I had no gift for my boyfriend and I didn’t know what to get him, and mentioned that he wanted a PDA and that was out of the question because it was way too expensive… Someone piped up and said that they had one they were willing to sell for $150. It was a stretch of my budget, but doable. So, I bought my boyfriend a slightly used Sharp Zaurus SI-5500 and he chipped in to buy the wireless card that works with it.

And it came today, so we’ve been playing around with it all evening… We ended up spending the evening at my house because I have a wireless network (he doesn’t) so we could surf the Internet on his PDA. I have to say, I never really cared for Opera on a normal computer, but the rock the socks off of me on a PDA. You know that feature page zoom? I never thought it would ever be useful, but I was wrong… It’s super useful on a PDA. I just wish more people would code to be webstandards compliant. It really stinks when you can’t view a page properly and can’t do anything about it because there’s no stylesheet to turn off.

I’m super jealous though… I really want a PDA. ❗
