What It All Comes Down To
POSTED in: Knitting, Ramblings

tigersockprogress.jpg Conwy sock progress! What an incredible fast pattern that is. I hope I can get sock one done today. Unfortunatly, I had to have my brother try the sock on yesterday, because it looked way small, but turns out it fits perfectly. Surprise is gone though, and that alone sucks. The tiger wool is turning out awesome, dont you think? Good thing I bought almost the entire rainforest serious this past summer (I am such a wool addict, pathological sickening).

On to more serious things… what an exciting day it was. HAHA We brought my Dad into the hospital as planned, for one of his checkups, he started to puke there, his blood pressure started dropping, and he was brought into the ER immediatly. Which is by all standards not as exciting as it is on tv. 😡 They did some blood testing, and of course his blood sugar was way high, as it always it, almost 500, normal is everything under 100. So he had to stay, which is good, and bad I suppose, because just one more thing on my worry list (I am not good with having a parent in the hospital, too many bad experiences), BUT kind of what we wanted, as we are just not able to get his sugar down, and my Dad is really suffering from it, he is so weak and tired all the time, and the higher his sugar gets, the more confused he gets, and he starts fantasizing. Scary every time it happens. Because as we all know, that is also one of the stages before you die.

It is so easy for people to give advice, noone can understand why we dont put him into a nursing home. So easy to say when you are not the one affected. I am just not interested anymore in what people have to say quite honestly. I know they mean well, but they have no idea. All weekend I heard people talking about their christmas plans and preparations… good for them, honestly. But on the other side is me, with practically no family left and a billion of responsibilites that have long grown over my head, a Dad in the hospital who might not even be home for Christmas, a brother who needs to be forced to buy something for me so that I dont wake up to nothing like on my birthday. And in the same breath, I am offered advice on what to do? You cannot be serious!

I went to Uni this afternoon, but a friend had a massive relationship crisis, and we ended up skipping the lecture, and talking for two hours. We found a good way for her to deal with it I believe, but I really should have gone into the lecture. I have already missed too much. 🙁

Christmasmail is going out tomorrow. So sorry I am so late! 😈 I have no discipline. Ohoh, our Christkindlmarkt has a homepage, check it out, and mark down next Friday, as I hopefully wont forget Free For All Friday this month!

Ich würde keinen meiner Eltern pflegen wollen, aber das hat seine Gründe – und ich finde, es geht niemanden was an, warum ihr euren Vater daheim behalten wollt.

    Was kümmern dich die Leute???

Yay, glad the sock fits, the wool really is lovely 😀

Sorry your Dad is so poorly *hugs* His sugar level sounds really hard to control, can they do it with drugs? I can completely understand why you don’t put him in a home, my parents don’t want me to do it to them when I’m older

Hope your friend feels less down about her relationship crisis.

    You’re such a star Connie!

Also hier ist alles grün – oder so – Schnee seh ich keinen – ich bin ja ein Flachländer 😉

Du machst das gut, aber zuviel ist zuviel – pass gut auf dich auf!
