Wishing everyone the best Christmas possible! Sometimes you have to make gold out of dust. 😐

The crisis telephone lines are running hot according to local news. They never have nearly as much to do than over the holidays. Even though I see a happy family with tv worth Christmasses behind every window, I know the reality is quite different. I am fighting for my own Christmas, but my skin wont cooperate. So instead of sleeping, I got up, had 3 cups of hot tea, a piece of chocolate cake, and am using my time to play with my new toys. We spoiled ourselves this year. Because this year was rotten as hell. And that is an understatement.


One of the Highlights is defintely the new Kindle Paperwhite. It is so much better than the previous version. It has a touch screen, it has a brilliant background light for reading in the dark, it now tells you how long to read to finish a chapter (extremely useful!) or even the whole book. I also like the new cover a lot. I would say, at least 50% better and very worth getting when you are reading as much as I do. Of course I had to get a skin for it as well and a cover. ➡ 😳


Our mall has a brilliant huge bookstore, Thalia, and I was surprised to spot a turtle there. Loved it so much that my brother got it for me for Christmas. And I bought its small sister. Love them both a lot.


Bookwise we got ourselves Tschick, which I read already and heard as an audiobook multiple times, brilliant! An apparently new Adrian Mole: The Hard Years Over 39 and a very nice edition of The Hobbit, because it is one of my alltime favourite books ever!

Emma totally exhausted herself playing with her Christmas “toys”. I like how hard she tries to kill Santa.

I want to end this entry with a quote that a brilliant person gave to me, from Ralph Waldo Emerson. I cant seem to find its english translation, and to translate it freely would ruin it. I think all of his quotes are worth reading though, here:
