What a game – England v. Portugal to go through to the semi-finals of Euro 2004 (soccer/football tournament).
Within 3 minutes, England had scored. Woohoo!
Then, in the 83rd minute, Portugal scored and the game went through into extra time.
The first period of extra time went by, still 1-1.
Then, Portugal scored and I thought England were going out then.
But we scored just 2 minutes before the end of extra time.
So penalties were going to decide.
The captain, Beckham, took the first one and didn’t even get it on target. One by one, we scored but the Portuguese scored too. It meant that on the final penalty, if the Portuguese goalkeeper scored, we would be going out. That is what happened.
I think it was the most nerve racking thing anybody could do, yes we wanted excitement but that was a bit too much. Oh well, good luck to Portugal.

Hey Nicki, I really dont like penalty shooting, it just isnt fair, and not the best team goes on, but the luckiest. I hope the final wont go into penalty shooting… HUGS I hope you are doing well Sweetie!
