Burn To Emerge

First off, meet Roger, he floated here on the back of a turtle, bringing along lots of Sauerkraut! I love little Amigurumi projects. They go rather fast, and pretty much always turn out cute! He is watching me from behind, sitting on a pile of books…

I am writing at this hour, after just having finished White Oleander. I normally dont have problems reading english books, but with this one I did. I hate to have to read over so many words that I dont understand. Maybe a longer visit to an english speaking country is in order again, but that is another topic all for itself… The worst thing you can do is, read a book with a dictionary, yikes.

Nevertheless, I did really enjoy it, especially the last few chapters were really good. I love how Astrid grew up throughout the book. How she travelled from family to family, coming out stronger and stronger. How her character developed, and how much she allowed each of her “mothers” to mold her into shape. How she confronted her mother in the end, gave me goosebumps, I did love that even Ingrid was able to change, and that she did “give” Astrid free. I am going to digest it now for a few hours, until I am going to decide which book I will tackle next!

The phoenix must burn to emerge.

This week was busy as hell. I learned about the Oscar that went to Austria, only from hearsaying days later, sad. 😕
