The Imminant Death Of Him
POSTED in: Daily Life

So, how many people are watching CNN right now?

Ok, so I am not afflicted in whatever sort, and I realize, I would probably feel very differently if I would be, but I feel it is so wrong, to kill someone by purpose. And it is incredible insane to know, that someone will definitly die in the next 3 hours.

I dont care who he is, I feel exactly the same when people on deathrow are being killed. It is just so wrong. And I dont understand, how people can be so religious, and still do this, after all it sais to not do what you have been done to in the Bible, right?

Also, how can you make people kill and how can a judge or jury make a man a murderer? The one pressing the buttons, giving the injections, whatever.

Then, remember when Karla Fay Tucker (or what was she called) was killed. She apparently devoted her life to God, like so many have and do. Saddam also feels that he will meet God soon, but what is if there is no God? What is if there is nothing but dirt and bugs? Where do these people get their faith from, dont they need proof as well to devote something like their life to someone who possibly might not exist?

I feel extremly uncomfortable, not that it changes anything. But how bad must you feel going to your own execution. I dont want to imagine.

I am writing up a review of 2006, my mind is all tangled up. 😈

All those religious wars are done by and for blind faith. If you think about it, all religions are nothing more than cults with blind faith. However, people need to believe in something to give them peace of mind and live as righteously as they can. I personally believe men “invented” all of the religions for political reasons.

I’m a little bothered by this whole thing too. Maybe not so much by the execution itself, but that he died by hanging. I just think being hanged to death is so barbaric. Even if he was to be executed, there are other methods that are more humane, regardless of what he did.

Very disturbing that we condone state supported murder. I am always ashamed that my country still approves (though not all of us thankfully) of this barbarity.

    I read this quote recently:
Reporter: “Mr. Gandhi, what do you think of Western civilization?”
Gandhi: “I think it would be a very good idea.”

Yes, I agree. Did they give a reason why they didnt just shoot him like he “wanted”?

Dear Connie, I have to admit that in this case I’ve been sort of ignoring the news (also have not connected any tv yet, so it makes it easier), but I’ll take a look at the CNN website now.

Oh ok. It already happened. I very much agree that in places where they insist on capital punishment, that the wishes of the death row person are respected. Hanging is so cruel.. an injection or being shot is faster.

It is strange that he is no longer here. He’s been in the news for decades now.

I’m wondering what would’ve happened if he had been subject to Dutch law. We do not have capital punishment any longer, most sentences for murder are for life, usually accompanied with treatment. Would the world have been satisfied if he had been locked away the rest of is life? He’s done so many bad things..

Hi ZhiWen, Interesting thought, how do you rightfully judge a man who has killed millions of people? Our laws might have been “too good” for him, because a life sentence is 25 years, right? I would have sent him off to a russian prison, see him work and live in dirt for the rest of his life. 🙂 That would have been a downfall, going from gold toilets, to that.

There probably is no right in this case. We think differently than people living down there, who would have been hung for killing one person already, most likely. It would have been insane not to hang him, but give him “a different treatment”, just because his “case” is known around the world. That already sounds wrong writing it out.

What it comes down to, is that capital punishment is wrong. But again, many people have many views on that. THANK GOD we live in Middle Europe. Now not what wool concerns *cough*, but our laws are so much better. 🙂

I suppose I should find it more disturbing, but honestly, I’m all for capital punishment. In my eyes, murderers deserve to be killed, and if not killed, then at least imprisoned for the rest of their lives, not given (like you said) a pathetic life sentence of 25 years. Hanging does seem like an awful way to go, though – why not just give him a lethal injection or something? It’s a strange world we live in.:???:

On that happy note, a belated Merry Christmas to you! I hope the new year brings you much well-deserved happiness!

😈 Also Leute in der Todeszelle kriegen ja Beruhigungsmittel. Was eigentlich auch unfair ist, weil ich denk nicht das Moerder ihren Opfer Beruhigungsmittel geben, oder.

    Einen guten Rutsch Kathrin!

I’m Christian… and I also don’t believe in capital punishment. Debasing ourselves to that point where we also become murderers… the same as the people we are punishing is… just plain wrong.
