Aktion Untersberg

Can you believe it, I only now have time to tell you what my Facebook friends already know since a week. A friend and I really climbed one of Salzburgs City Mountains, the Untersberg, it was brilliant! We even picked the toughest path, the Dopplersteig, lots and lots of stairs. But we got an incredible feeling of accomplishment that we made it. So amazing, that I can hardly wait to climb that mountain again, it was wonderful. I can finally understand what people get from climbing mountains. An immense rush of Adrenaline and a massive ego-boost, after all we went up there without any troubles and without having prepared for it. We rock!

You start out really easy…

.. for about an hour, we were able to talk for the longest time besides going up and up and up…

… until the ladders started, at some points I climbed them on all fours…

… when we spotted how close we already were to the cable car we thought we were pretty much almost at our goal.. HAHA!

… thats when the stone ladders and the serpentines started, the toughest part, but climbing those stairs we were able to make lots of progress in a short time (no photos from there, way too dangerous to start taking photographs) … thats probably one of my favourite shots:

… and before we knew it (ok, not as easy as I make it sound), we were way up above the city…

I cannot describe how amazing it makes you feel to reach the absolute top of a mountain. Its insane! LOVED IT! more photos on my FlickR stream

I also had an internet date on Thursday. It was mad! Not sure if I want to do such a thing again. 🙄 Someone called it big bang, that summarizes it pretty good!

I finished a most lovely book this past week: Die unglaubliche Geschichte des Henry N. Brown, unfortunately, there isnt an english version of it yet. ;( But its so extremely lovely, if you know German, read it! ➡ Very good for the heart and soul! Now I am reading Holes, ok so far. 🙂

I have to go to Graz on Tuesday to their prurigo outpatient clinic. Not looking forward to it. Its about 7 hours by car and its going to get 34 degrees Celsius, hooray! 😮 After they will most likely tell me that I am through all regular and experimental treatments there are, I will start Infliximab, but more to that when I am actually starting it. Its a mouse antibody with crazy side-effects, so crazy, that you have to be watched for hours after getting the iv. 🙁

So far so good though! 🙂 Now on to meeting the next guy in line… IF ONLY!
